Dr. Vivek Vij

Dr. Vivek Vij is the Director of Liver Transplantation and HPB Surgery at Fortis Hospital.  He is well known for being the youngest Liver Transplant Surgeon, who has performed over 500 independent Liver Transplants. Overall he has completed more than 2500 surgeries in his medical career. Most of his surgeries are performed at Fortis Hospital, Noida with a 95% liver transplant and 100% donor success rate.

His qualifications include MBBS from BJ Medical College, Pune, and MS in General Surgery from Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot, 2001. He completed his DNB in General Surgery from the National Board of Examinations, New Delhi. After completing his training from reputed institutes, Dr. Vivek Vij offered his services at many top hospitals.

He is the first surgeon from the Indian subcontinent to publish a series of Laparoscopic Donor Hepatectomy in Liver Transplantation. The clinical interests of Dr. Vij are Adult & Paediatric Liver Transplant, Complex Liver Surgery, Advanced Pancreato-biliary Surgeries, Advanced Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgeries, and Basic Science Research and Regenerative Medicine.

Dr. Vivek is a professional member of ILTS and ISOT. He is a recipient of many research papers in international and national journals.
