Vinod
Bangalore
Vinod was around 5 months old when he was first suspected with the symptoms of hereditary focal/segmental glomerulosclerosis. Being unaware of the diagnosis and the treatments, the parents went uninformed. Nobody knew the details of Vinod’s disease and everyone was happy to have a child in the house. Once when Vinod turned three years old, he woke up in the morning with swelling around the eyes and a little pain in his stomach. The parents being unaware of the symptoms and the disease did not notice the symptoms and helped the child only with a stomach ache.
How did Vinod receive help?
The parents went to the general practitioner thinking that Vinod is having stomach pain. The doctor gave a few medicines and the stomach ache went under control.
After a few months, Vinod swallowed a bead which made him develop stomach pain again. This time, the parents went to the specialist doctor who performed a few tests and said that the bead had been swallowed and could be treated with a few medicines or homemade remedies.
For many years, Vinod’s medical condition was unsuspected by the parents and the doctors. It was the time when Vinod in his school complained of stomach ache. This was the thyroid time in the gap of a month when he complained of the same.
This time, the parents went to the best Nephrologist in Bangalore to have the complete treatment of their child.
Vinod was tested by several test series at the age of three years. The parents were astonished to see that a stomach ache can be so serious that the doctors enlisted so many tests for this child.
Vinod was suspected of FSGS which was the cause of hereditary issues. The doctor knew that he required a quick kidney transplant that could be the only option to save his life. But for the first 15 months, the doctor developed a plan of dialysis and helped the child to go through the cleaning process.
Nearly 10 years passed while performing dialysis daily. Vinod became 13 years old and it was the time when the parents of Vinod received a call saying that the child had got a matched kidney donor. It took another 5 years for Vinod to settle with the requirements and the demands of the kidney donor. The child has now become 18 years old and he is now happy to receive the gift of life in the form of a kidney through a Nephrologist in Bangalore.
