Tanvi

Pune

This is the story of Tanvi, who feels that she has eaten enough and often tends to hide the food in any drawer before getting caught. She is the youngest in her family and shares her childhood with her two siblings- one brother and one sister. Tanvi started feeling that she is eating a lot so she started with promises not to eat food. She is 27 years old and often used to skip her afternoon meal and night dinner. What she used to have in her breakfast and evening snack used to give a feeling to the family that she has eaten nothing at all. Soon, Tanvi started losing weight and started changing her clothing patterns from half or cut sleeves to full sleeve clothing style.

How did Tanvi come in contact with Credihealth?

  • Tanvi’s mother came through one of the medical platforms called Credihealth where people are provided with different facilities like ordering medicines, taking home care facilities, assistance with the medical loan, and booking appointments for a second opinion along with online/video consultation with any doctors within the country.

  • The general practitioner referred Tanvi to the psychiatrist of Manipal Hospital, Kharadi Pune, where she had her tests done.

  • Nothing came out in the reports and everything was normal. But, a few of the physical tests including weight, height, and walking or talking style said that Tanvi was not alright at all.

  • At the age of 27, she had a body weight of around 35kg. She was very lean according to her weight and height.

The psychiatrist of Manipal Hospital, Kharadi Pune suggested Tanvi follow a schedule of exercising along with five meals per day. The doctor also gave her a few milk powders that could help her gain weight along with moderate exercise. Although her mother became happy with the consultation, Tanvi was still confused about what to follow and what not. However, she started following the suggestions of the doctor. Soon, at the age of 28, she gained a weight of 55 kgs and started feeling healthy with her body weight. She now feels more confident and understands the feeling of eating too much at a time.

Anamika

Pune

This is the story of Anamika, who is around 15 years old and had to go through a series of medications at such a young age. Once in a while, when she was in class 5 she said that she wanted to top the class with good grades. Thinking that this is one of the aspirations of the young child, the parents did not notice any change in their only daughter. On the other hand, the financial status of the family was good enough that they let their children stay in a single room and have a pleasurable time with themselves. It was the time when Anamika did not get good grades as she thought and she tried to kill herself after thinking that she got bad grades. She went into the room of her parents and let herself drink the alcohol bottles at the age of 9. After some time, she went unconscious and the parents admitted their child to the nearby Manipal Hospital, Kharadi, Pune through the medium of Credihealth.

  • The poison of alcohol attacked the stomach so hard that she started shedding blood out of her vagina and she started vomiting blood.

  • She was becoming conscious and unconscious in the middle of the time and the doctors were checking her body and its changes.

  • Since the poison was already there in her stomach, the doctors could not apply any surgery or therapy till she regained her health. There were chances that she might have gone into a coma because of excessive alcohol consumption.

  • The doctors used every therapy including activated charcoal, soothing antidotes, passing the food and minerals through blood, and others.

Nearly after three days, Anamika received her senses and she was able to talk. After getting fine, Anamika said that she was unhappy with her scores in the class, although she received more than 80%. India is one of the few developing countries where you will find the rising cases of mental health issues. Every year, around 45 million people get affected and it mostly propels in the southern part of the country. Today, she is taking her medicines for depression and is thankful to Manipal Hospital, Kharadi, Pune for their timely help.
