Dr. Ish Anand is an eminent Neurologist and Neuro-Electro Physiologist. He is presently the Vice Chairperson & Senior Consultant of the Department of Neurology at the Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, and the Managing Director of the South Delhi Neurology Clinic. Prior to this he was associated with the prestigious G.B. Pant Hospital in New Delhi. An expert in handling Acute Neurological Emergencies, as well as Chronic Neurological Disorders, Dr. Anand has special interest in Headache Management, Epilepsy, Stroke, Movement Disorders, Nerve & Muscle Disorders, and Neck & Back Pain. With degrees of MBBS from the Maulana Azad Medical College, MD (Internal Medicine) from the L.N.J.P.N. Hospital, DM (Neurology) from the G.B. Pant Hospital, and Diploma in Tuberculosis in Chest Diseases (DTCD) from the V.P. Chest Institute, he was awarded the fellowship of the Epilepsy & Clinical Neurophysiology (Section of Epilepsy & Sleep Disorders), Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio, USA. Till date he has trained many aspiring Neurologists & Internal Medicine Residents and he has undertaken Clinical Research Projects related to Parkinson’s disease, Peripheral Neuropathy, Migraine Headache, Multiple Sclerosis, & Acute Stroke. He introduced Intraoperative Prolonged EEG Monitoring in patients undergoing Carotid Endarterectomy under General Anesthesia in North India. A published author, he has written about various Neurological Disorders that affect the third world countries, including Leprous Neuropathy, AIDS, Cyanocobalamin Deficiency, Porphyria, Hereditary Ataxias, Choreoacanthocytosis, Multiple Intracranial Granulomas, Arsenic Neuropathy, Nocariosis of the Brain, Decompressive Hemicraniectomy, and Cerebral Venous Sinus Thrombosis. Dr. Anand has chaired many sessions and has given more than 80 presentations at various conferences at national & international levels on a range of topics related to Neurology. With 33 publications and 11 book chapters, he is a member of various renowned organizations, including the Indian Academy of Neurology, Neurological Society of India, Indian Epilepsy Association, Delhi Neurological Association, and the International Epilepsy Consortium.
