Prateek Chowdhary is 30 years old and a resident of Delhi. While pursuing his higher studies for his master’s, he went on a college trip to Mumbai. It all went smooth and simple. All the participants of the tour were examined and cross-checked based on their medical health and were allowed to go for the Mumbai trip only after receiving a health checkup. Prateek who was 200 kilos at the age of 30 also went on the trip after having a routine checkup. The problem arose when Prateek started having convulsions because of the high temperature of the place. He was immediately given first aid, which went unaffected on him.
How did Prateek receive help?
Prateek, who was having convulsions during the time of reaching Mumbai, was told to stay calm and manage himself while holding his breath.
Prateek was admitted to nearby Fortis Hospital Mulund, where he received better management services and medical services.
The doctors helped him maintain an atmosphere around him so that he could think of positivity only.
After receiving the tests and all physical or medical examinations, Prateek was informed to go through bariatric surgery. He was informed that because of his heavyweight, he developed medical conditions like depression and a high risk to the heart.
Prateek, who was left by his teammates and was guided all by his parents, received bariatric surgery under the examination or presence of a pulmonology doctor, cardiology doctor, and general physician.
It took him 5 days in the hospital and he was relieved after he heard the news that he lost almost 40 kilos.
Prateek, who had to go through similar therapies or surgeries at least three times to maintain his normal body weight, is now thankful to the doctors of Fortis Hospital Mulund for timely treatment. He is thankful to God and the teammates who helped him reach the hospital at the right time.
