Krishnan Ramachandran

Chennai

This is the story of Krishnan Ramachandran who is a resident of Chennai and was earlier going through difficulty in losing weight. He discussed the things with the doctor and the doctor suggested him to have bariatric surgery instead. Krishnan Ramachandran who was unaware of the symptoms was told that he was unable to lose weight naturally that’s why he should go for bariatric surgery. Upon performing the surgery, the doctors found something different with the liver. Krishnan Ramachandran was told that he was not fine from inside. Instead, he was advised to see a gastroenterologist for his proper treatment and find an answer.

How did Krishnan Ramachandran receive help?

  • Krishnan Ramachandran thought of seeking help from Credihealth instead of going to various places and landing with the decision.

  • He received a consultation with the best gastroenterologist at Fortis Malar Hospital Chennai and found the doctor helpful for him.

  • He discussed his liver issues and had a few tests for the same. It was discovered that he had esophageal varices, a rare kind of disease that causes the need for a liver transplant if the disease is not treated timely.

  • After studying the case history of Krishnan’s family, the doctors found that the disease was genetic as Krishnan’s family including his mother, aunt and uncle had to go through the same disease and they died because of the same reason.

  • The doctors found that Krishnan was going through the alpha-1-antitrypsin deficiency, which causes difficulty in losing weight.

  • Krishnan Ramachandran was living in his 30s with his wife and two children. He was living happily until he discovered the need to lose weight because of certain health issues.

  • He waited in the hope to get a liver transplant soon. It became two years and he had to wait until a man appeared in the hospital and asked for a liver transplant and the immediate death after the same.

The man maintained his identity to be secretive and asked the doctor to do the work instead he will go somewhere else. Being in the time of need, the doctor informed Krishnan Ramachandran that they have found the person who is ready to provide liver. But, Krishnan was not provided any information regarding the donor. Krishnan Ramachandran was lucky to receive timely help from both Fortis Malar Hospital Chennai and Credihealth, who both had a great hand in the transformation of his life. But, personally, Krishnan was unhappy from the inside after he received the information that the donor doesn't want to leak his identity, nor does he want to meet anyone.
