Tanvi

Pune

This is the story of Tanvi, who feels that she has eaten enough and often tends to hide the food in any drawer before getting caught. She is the youngest in her family and shares her childhood with her two siblings- one brother and one sister. Tanvi started feeling that she is eating a lot so she started with promises not to eat food. She is 27 years old and often used to skip her afternoon meal and night dinner. What she used to have in her breakfast and evening snack used to give a feeling to the family that she has eaten nothing at all. Soon, Tanvi started losing weight and started changing her clothing patterns from half or cut sleeves to full sleeve clothing style.

How did Tanvi come in contact with Credihealth?

  • Tanvi’s mother came through one of the medical platforms called Credihealth where people are provided with different facilities like ordering medicines, taking home care facilities, assistance with the medical loan, and booking appointments for a second opinion along with online/video consultation with any doctors within the country.

  • The general practitioner referred Tanvi to the psychiatrist of Manipal Hospital, Kharadi Pune, where she had her tests done.

  • Nothing came out in the reports and everything was normal. But, a few of the physical tests including weight, height, and walking or talking style said that Tanvi was not alright at all.

  • At the age of 27, she had a body weight of around 35kg. She was very lean according to her weight and height.

The psychiatrist of Manipal Hospital, Kharadi Pune suggested Tanvi follow a schedule of exercising along with five meals per day. The doctor also gave her a few milk powders that could help her gain weight along with moderate exercise. Although her mother became happy with the consultation, Tanvi was still confused about what to follow and what not. However, she started following the suggestions of the doctor. Soon, at the age of 28, she gained a weight of 55 kgs and started feeling healthy with her body weight. She now feels more confident and understands the feeling of eating too much at a time.
