Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS Hospital Delhi) is a super speciality hospital for liver and biliary diseases located in New Delhi and has the vision to become an international centre of excellence for the prevention and cure, advance competency-based training and cutting edge research in liver, biliary and allied sciences. It is a 155-bedded hospital with outdoor, in-patient and emergency services. It is committed to provide the highest levels of patient satisfaction, healthcare and staff and patient safety through continual improvement by ensuring – evidence based clinical practices; transparent management processes; safe and conducive work environment for staff; and establishing a dedicated centre of excellence in healthcare, teaching/training & research in the field of liver biliary diseases. The mission of ILBS is to develop a facility with international standards, which could provide a comprehensive and most modern set up for the diagnosis and treatment, an advanced centre for dedicated research and resource for advanced training in the field of liver diseases, including liver transplantation, gall bladder and biliary diseases and allied specialties; as well as serve as a torch bearer model of health care in the country by amalgamating the skills and structure of academic universities, clinical and research acumen of the super specialities and the managerial skills of the corporate world. It is autonomous medical and research institute under the Delhi Government. It is a teaching hospital and has been the given the status of Deemed University by the University Grant Commission (UGC). Various departments at ILBS are hepatology, hepato-pancreato-biliary, laboratory medicine, radiology, transfusion medicine, anaesthesia, critical care medicine, speciality in neurology, nephrology and cardiology; and research. The unique services offered by ILBS are transplant services, GI bleed unit, liver cancer treatment, percutaneous ethanol injection for liver cancer, radiofrequency ablation and TACE for liver cancer and Fibroscan.
