Dr. Amit Aslam Khan

Dr. Amit Aslam Khan is a Senior Consultant - Neurosurgery in Max Super Speciality Hospital, Shalimar Bagh. Dr. Amit is a renowned neuro-vascular interventionist who is also a faculty at various prestigious medical colleges across the country. Dr. Amit Aslam completed MBBS from JJM Medical College, Karnataka in1998 and DNB from Radio-diagnosis, Madras Medical College, Chennai in 2003. After practicing for few years, he further pursued  DM in Neuro-imaging and interventional neuroradiology from SCTIMST, Kerala in 2009. Due to his focused interest and passion for his field, Dr. Amit has also been awarded many times like International Award on Dynamics of Cortical Neuronal Plasticity in Spinal Lesions using functional magnetic resonance imaging. He played a very important role in setting up Interventional Stroke Unit and initiation of Thrombolytic Therapy in Acute Ischemic Stroke patients using r-TPA at NIMHANS in 2004. Apart from general vascular intervention, his areas of special interest and expertise cover acute ischemic stroke, cerebral venous thrombosis, extracranial and intracranial atherosclerosis, cerebral arterio-venous malformations, stroke in young adults, dural arteriovenous fistulas, maxillofacial malformations, hypervascular skull base, head and neck tumors and cerebral aneurysms.
