Dr. Anand Kumar V

Dr Anand Kumar V is the Senior Consultant and HOD of Cardiology at VPS Lakeshore Hospital, Kochi, Kerala. He has an experience level of over 21 years. His acquires a vast area of expertise and interest such as diagnosis and treatment of Acute Coronary Syndrome including Bedside Echocardiography, Pacemaker Insertion, Central Venous Line Insertion, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump Insertion, Bedside Mechanical Ventilation, and Emergency Pericardial Aspiration. He is also supremely skilled in the field of Coronary Angiograms including Transfemoral, Transradial, Transulnar, and Transbrachial Angiographies. He also acquires supreme skills in ICD Implantations for patients with CAD, heart failure and cardiac arrhythmia.        He pursued his MBBS from Government Medical College, Kottayam (1995) and MD in Internal Medicine from Government Stanley Medical College, Chennai (1999). He also has a DM in Cardiology from Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh (2002). In the past, he has served as Principal Investigator for over 10 multinational multicentre clinical trials. From 2003 to 2005, he worked as Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at Yashoda Hospital, Hyderabad. He is credited for performing over 6000 coronary angioplasty (PTCA) procedures and over 5000 peripheral angiograms. Dr Anand Kumar V started the first 24x7 Primary Angioplasty centre in Central Kerala in 2006 at VPS Lakeshore Hospital and the first Advanced Hypertension Clinic in Kerala in 2006. In addition to this, he is also recognized for performing the first joint peripheral angioplasty in India using flexible stent technology in the year 2009. He was awarded a fellowship by American College of Cardiology (2013), European Society of Cardiology (2015), Society of Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (FSCAI) and Royal College of Physicians (2018).
