Dr. Ashok Seth

Dr. Ashok Seth is the Chairman of Fortis Escorts Heart Institute and Head of Cardiology Council of Fortis Group of Hospitals. He is part of the core team that built the Escorts Heart Institute. He has led the initiative on numerous surgeries, from being the first cardiologist in Asia-Pacific region to perform Directional Atherectomy, Angioscopy, Stents, Thrombectomy devices & Drug-Eluting Stents to the use of Impella heart support device failing heart. Dr. Ashok Seth has performed one of the highest numbers of angiographies and angioplasties in the world. For his contribution to the medical industry and patient care, he has been honoured with the prestigious Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri Award by the President of India in 2015 and 2003 respectively. His achievements have also been recognized by the Republic of Spain and USA. Dr. Seth has been Officer's Cross Order of Isabella the Catholic in 2010 by Spain and Mason Sones Award from SCAI (USA) in 2010. His skilled expertise as an interventional cardiologist is widely sought after international conventions, lectures, and courses all over the world. Dr. Ashok Seth is the Associate Editor of International Journal of Cardiology, Member, Editorial Board Journal American College of Cardiology, Cardiovascular Interventions, Catheterization and Cardiovascular Intervention, Euro Intervention & the most important journals in the field of interventional cardiology. He has authored over 150 publications in both Indian and international medical journals. Dr. Ashok Seth is actively involved in training cardiologists from across the world in advanced techniques of angioplasty. He holds prestigious accolades like the National award of Padma Shri by the President of India, Doctor of the Year award at Escorts, and an election to the Board of Governors of Society of Cardiac Angiographies and Intervention (USA), the official professional and regulatory body of interventional cardiologists in USA that has a global influence.
