About Dr. Chetan Bhatt-

Dr. Chetan Bhatt is the Head of the Department and Consultant in the Gastroenterology Department of Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre. He has been a well-known Mumbai gastroenterologist and hepatologist for over 32 years. He has an MBBS, an M.D. in General Medicine, and a DNB in Gastroenterology in addition to his MBBS.

Over three decades, he has substantial teaching experience and has established a unique and novel idea of thorough medical instruction for undergraduate and postgraduate students. He also has extensive experience in various diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic treatments.

Work and achievements of Dr. Chetan Bhatt-

Dr. Chetan Bhatt has received various scholarships, including the Dr. A.J. Kohiyar prize from the Research Society (J.J. group of Hospitals and Grant Medical College) and the Glaxo Merit Scholarship for being the first student to choose Internal Medicine as a specialty after graduation. 

He is particularly interested in motility disorders and "Inflammatory Bowel Diseases" (IBD) and has established a patient education group to explore IBD understandings for patients. He has authored a patient information pamphlet on IBD called "Understanding IBD for Patients and Their Relatives" and launched an IBD website called www.ibdmumbaiclub.com.

Dr. Chetan Bhatt has multiple papers and presentations to his name in the field of gastroenterology, and he has produced chapters on the Disease of Peritoneum, Liver in Systemic Disease, and Alcoholic Liver Disease in the API Textbook of Medicine (7th & 8th Edition).

Dr. Chetan Bhatt is the Chairperson of the Indian Society of Gastroenterology's IBS Task Force. He is a member of the IBD Research Group and the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of India's Task Force. He was on the organizing committees of the International Neuro-Gastro Intestinal Motility Disorder and the Indian Society of Gastroenterology Conferences in 2013 and 2014. Over the years, he has been on the faculty of the International Inflammatory Bowel Disease Conference, the National Conference of IBD, and the National Conference of Gastroenterology.
