Dr. Gururaj Biradar

Dr. Gururaj Biradar is a Consultant - Pediatrics, Neonatology and NICU. After completing MBBS from BLDEA medical college, Bijapur Karnataka, he did his MD Paediatrics from one of the top 3 Medical colleges in India, Bangalore Medical College and was the topper of his batch. To further expand his specialization, Dr. Gururaj Biradar did his Fellowship in Neonatology in 2007-2008 from St John's Medical College and Paediatric Intensive Care fellowship from Narayana Hrudayalaya. He started practicing as a Consultant at Narayana Hospital for a brief duration, before moving to the UK. In London, Dr. Gururaj Biradar underwent Fellowship in Paediatric Intensive Care, from well renowned King's College Hospital, London to gain the expertise in managing sick kids with acute liver failure, status asthmaticus, status epilepticus( fits), head injury, severe infections and also received training in Paediatric Dialysis (CVVH). He has also undergone Fellowship in Neonatology at world-renowned St George's Hospital, London, where he got to manage extreme preterm babies of 23 weeks onwards and with birth weight as low as 300gms and above. Over the years, Dr. Gururaj Biradar has gained expertise in managing babies with Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia, Pulmonary Hypertension, use of nitric oxide, use of a high-frequency ventilator and head cooling for Birth Asphyxia. His special areas of interest are childhood allergy and Asthma, children with epilepsy, children with septic shock, dengue fever with shock, managing extreme preterms, neonatal pulmonary hypertension, Nitric Oxide usage, head cooling for Birth Ashyxia management .
