Dr. Jayanta Roy

Dr. Jayanta Roy is a Director and HOD - Neuro Medicine. After completing his post-doctoral (DM in Neurology) study and training from Bangur Institute of Neurology in 2001, Dr Jayanta Roy went to the prestigious University of Calgary Stroke Program for a 2-year postdoctoral Clinical and Research Fellowship Program in Cerebrovascular Diseases (Stroke). He has extensively trained in Stroke management including thrombolysis and other procedures. He participated in various multicenter research projects during his training and contributed in the publications of the research. During the fellowship, he got trained Neurosonology (Transcranial Doppler Technique) and got certified by American Society of Neuroimaging. Dr Jayanta came back to Kolkata in 2005 and setup the Stroke Program along with a comprehensive stroke unit at Manipal Hospital Dhakuria. This program was first of its kind in the city of Kolkata where acute Stroke IV thrombolysis and Interventional acute stroke management.
