Dr. KK Kapur

With a vast experience of above three decades, Dr. KK Kapoor is an eminent Cardiologist associated with the Indraprastha Apollo Hospital in New Delhi. With degrees of MBBS from the MAMC in New Delhi, MD (Medicine), & DM (Cardiology), both from the PGI in Chandigarh. Furthermore, Dr. Kapoor was awarded the fellowships of the UAB Hospital (Non-Invasive Cardiology) in Birmingham. He is also a member of the Indian Academy of Echocardiography (FIAE), International Medical Sciences Academy (FIMSA), European Society of Cardiology (FESC), Indian College of Cardiology (FICC), and the International Society of Cardiac Ultrasound (FISCU). A pioneer in introducing Dobutamine Stress Echo in Delhi in the year 1990, Dr. KK Kapoor has many other ‘firsts’ to his credit. He Introduced the Foetal Echocardiogram in 1990, the Renal Artery Doppler in 1990, Penile Doppler in 1996, and the Adenosine Stress Echo at the Apollo Hospital in 2004. An expert in performing various Non-Invasive Cardiology procedures, including Echocardiography, Color Doppler, Carotid & Vascular Doppler, TMT, Stress Echo, Dobutamine Stress Echo, TEE, 3-D Echo, and Speckle Imaging. With more than 60 publications in several leading peer-reviewed national & international journals and several chapters in textbooks of Echocardiography & Cardiology. Dr. Kapoor has been bestowed with many awards such as the Distinguished Service Award for outstanding contribution in Clinical & Preventive Cardiology at the World Congress of Clinical & Preventive Cardiology for the years 2006, 2007, & 2010, the Dr BR Ambedkar Sewa Ratna Award for the best Cardiologist in Uttar Pradesh and the Medi Health Care Research Service Excellence Award – the “Bhartiya Chikitsak Ratna” in 2013. He has also received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the World Congress of Clinical, Preventive & Pediatric Cardiology in September 2008 at Maneswar, Akshar Dham in New Delhi. Also, he has been honored with the Time Research Service Excellence Award for the Best Cardiologist in Noida in January 2010, & again in November 2010, and the Best Cardiologist in U.P. for three consecutive years from 2011 to 2013.
