Dr. Jha began his career in 1992 with an MBBS degree from Patna Medical College, Patna, followed by MD and DM from PGIMER, Chandigarh. Bright as an academic student, he was the recipient of Special State Merit Scholarship between 1984 and 1991. Dr. Jha’s thesis work led to a publication titled ‘Bronchial hyper-responsiveness of women with asthma exposed to environmental tobacco exposure’ in the Indian Journal of Chest Diseases & Allied Sciences in April–June1999.
