Dr. MahadevDixit is a Lead Consultant - Cardiac Surgery & Chief - Cardiac Sciences. After completing his MBBS from JN Medical College, Belgaum, Dr. Mahadev Dixit went on to pursue his MS - General Surgery from Govt. Medical College Bellary and later obtained his DNB in CVTS from Bombay Hospital, Institute of Medical Sciences Mumbai. Dr. Mahadev Dixit has had a very distinguished career of 30 years and has performed more than 20,000 open heart surgeries, in which 4000 were pediatric surgeries.
Over the years, he has been involved in complex pediatric cardiac surgeries like Arterial switch procedures, Pulmonary conduits, Fonton procedure, Sennigs procedure. Dr. Mahadev Dixit is among those very few surgeons who perform on the entire spectrum of cardiac surgeries ranging from neonatal to transplants including Minimal Access surgeries. He is also widely recognized for performing a neonatal cardiac surgery of a baby weighing 900 grams.
He is a life member of, Society of Paediatric surgeons: US, European association of cardiothoracic surgeons, Trustee at Asia heart foundation involved in building heart hospital across the country also Chairman of Priyadarshini Eye Healthcare and Research foundation Belgaum.Prior to Aster CMI Hospital, he practiced as a Professor & Head of Department of CTVS and has been a keen teacher and examined for both MCh (CVTS) & DNB(CVTS).
Throughout his career, he has been recognized for his excellent contribution to the medical field. He was awarded Karnataka State Rajyostava Award “2004” Award for his extraordinary work in establishing Cardiac Thoracic Surgery in North Karnataka. He was also honored & awarded for prestigious Dr. C. S. Sadasivan an Oration for the year 2009 of Association of Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgeons of India. Dr. Dixit also engages himself with numerous workshops, seminars, and conferences. He has delivered more than 500 lectures at different organizations to increase awareness of cardiac diseases.
