Dr. Manas Kumar Panigrahi

Dr Manas Kumar Panigrahi is currently a Senior Consultant Neurosurgeon at KIMS Hospital in Hyderabad. He completed MBBS from MKCG Medical College, Berhampur in 1989, followed by MS in General Surgery and MCh in Neuro Surgery from National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS) in 1994. Dr Manas started his career as a Professor of Neurosurgery at Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences. In his career spanning over 22 years, Dr Manas Kumar Panigrahi has performed more than 500 brain tumor surgeries, more than 400 Cerebral Aneurysm correction surgeries, 100+ Arteriovenous Malformations (AVM), 600+ Pituitary Tumor procedures, 1000+ Glioma surgeries, 600+ Spine (Cervical) Surgeries, 1000+ Lumbar Spinal surgeries and 300+ Endoscopic Surgeries. Due to his excellence in his field, Dr Manas is the main member of the comprehensive epilepsy surgery care program at KIMS Hospitals & has performed more than 750 epilepsy surgeries. He is the pioneer of the Deep brain stimulation for Parkinsons Disease and Functional Hemispherectomy and performed more than 100 DBS surgeries.  Dr Manas Kumar was Awarded the Japanese Society of Child Neurology (JSCN) award for an excellent paper on Hemispherotomy in children at the 14th Annual meeting of Infantile Seizure Society (2012) at Tokyo in Japan. Dr Manas Kumar has also won the Young Neurosurgeon award to be a panel member for Symposium at Kyoto, Japan, 2003 Dr Manas Kumar is not only known for his extraordinary performance in healthcare, he has greatly contributed to more than 140 publications in national and international journals, contributed chapters to textbooks in Neurosciences and received best paper awards at international and national meetings. He is a Member of several national and international organizations including Indian Epilepsy Association, Indian Epilepsy Society, Neurological Society of India, an International member of Congress of Neurological Surgeons, Fellow of American College of Surgeons and member of Indian medical association.
