Dr. P K Sethi

Dr PK Sethi is an incredibly recognized and respected neurologist in India with an illustrious career spanning over 54 years. He made significant contributions to the field of neurology and was recognized with numerous awards for his exceptional work. After completing his MBBS and MD degrees from the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Dr P. K. Sethi further honed his skills by completing specialized training in neurology at the State University of New York at Buffalo for two years. He has been actively practising as a neurologist since 1973 and has held senior positions in renowned hospitals such as Command Hospital (Lucknow), Command Hospital (Calcutta), Army Hospital (Delhi), Vidya Sagar Institute of Health and Neuro Sciences (New Delhi) and Sir Ganga Ram (New Delhi). Dr PK Sethi made significant contributions to the field of neurology, including introducing terms such as Alstrom-like syndrome, the histopathology of facial myokymia, Quiritian epilepsy, and cephalic seizures, among others. His outstanding achievements have earned him prestigious awards and recognitions, including Padma Shri Award, Vishist Seva Medal, Gen Amir Chand Award, Life Time Achievement Award from NEUCON and Life Time Achievement Award from DNA. In addition to his remarkable achievements, Dr. P. K. Sethi is an active member of various reputed societies, including the Neurological Society of India, the American Academy of Neurology, the Medical Association of India, the Royal Society of Health London, the Indian Epilepsy Association and the Indian Epilepsy Society. Dr PK Sethi holds key positions as Honorable President of the Indian Epilepsy Trust and the 18th International Epilepsy Congress. He has also received fellowships from prestigious academic institutions such as the International College of Angiology (USA), the International Academy of Medical Sciences and the International Medical Sciences Academy. He is a founding member of the Indian Academy of Neurology and had the honour of serving as a physician to the Honorable President of India. With more than 110 publications in national and international journals, Dr. P. K. Sethi continues to contribute to the development of neurology. Currently, Dr. P. K. Sethi serves as Emeritus Consultant and Consultant in Neurology at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi, where his expertise and extensive experience continue to benefit patients and the medical community.
