He has visited several countries such as Europe, Japan, USA as a visiting Professor. He has more than 50 papers and researches published in National and International journals. Prior to working at Manipal Hospital, Dr. RN Bhattacharya was a Professor and Head of Department at Sree Chitra Tirunal Medical Science & Technology, Trivandrum, Kerala.
