Dr. Sanjiv KS Marya

Dr Sanjiv KS Marya is the Chairman of Bone and Joint Institute. He is a renowned orthopedic and joint replacement surgeon. Dr Marya has been in the field of orthopedic surgery for almost 30 years. Dr Marya specializes in Joint Replacement Surgery for the joints of upper and lower limbs (Primary and Revision) and Trauma Management based on AO Principles. Dr SKS Marya has pioneered bilateral joint replacement of knee and hip joints i.e. replacing both joints in one sitting. He has initiated the Unicompartmental (Half Knee) replacement and has done exclusive work on fractures in joint replacement. He has also introduced computer assisted joint replacement surgery in India. Before joining Medanta Hospital, Dr Marya was associated with Max Hospital and Apollo Hospital in New Delhi. Earlier in his career, Dr Marya has worked as an orthopedic surgeon at Royal Hampshire Country Hospital, Winchester (England); as Lecturer and Consultant in the Orthopaedic Surgery department at University College of Medical Sciences in  Delhi and Senior Resident in Orthpaedics at AIIMS, New Delhi and Junior Resident in Orthpaedics at PGIMER, Chandigarh. Dr Marya completed his MBBS as the Best Graduate of Maharshi Dayanand University and Medical College Rohtak. He followed it up with his masters, MS in Orthopaedic Surgery from the coveted PGI Chandigarh. Subsequently he pursued DNB from National Board of Examinations in New Delhi and MCh in Joint Replacement Surgery from University of Liverpool. Dr Sanjiv KS Marya has published seven books on joint surgery and serves on editorial board of journals like Hip International and Indian Journal of Orthopaedics.
