Dr. Sumit Singh

Dr. Sumit Singh is presently the Chief - Neurology at Artemis Hospital in Gurgaon. Prior to Artemis Hospital, he served as Additional Director of Neurology at Medanta - the Medicity. He completed his MBBS from MLB Medical College, Jhansi and MD in Medicine from LLRM Medical College in Meerut. Dr. Sumit Singh was the topper of his class while pursuing his DM in Neurology at All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi and was awarded the “BL Soni Gold Medal” for being the Best Resident in Neurology. After that, he went on to complete his training in muscle disorders from the Institute de Myologie Sal Patriare hospital, Paris France. Post returning to India in 2000, Dr. Sumit Singh joined AIIMS as a faculty and set up the first Headache Clinic in India in the government sector in the year 2002. Dr. Sumit Singh is known for his expertise in treatment of headache, Parkinson's disease and other neurological disorders. He is experienced in conducting deep brain stimulation procedure. His special area of interest lies in movement disorders and is the country's one of the few Cosmetic Surgery injectors for patients with Writer’s cramp, Spasmodic torticollis and other dystonias, hemifacial spasm and blepharospasm. He has researched on Myasthenia gravis and Multiple sclerosis and has modified the plasma exchange protocols for the patients. He has contributed to 104 publications in peer reviewed and 14 chapters in Books.
