Dr. Vijay Dikshit

Dr. Vijay Dikshit is a Senior Consultant and Coordinator - Cardio Thoracic Surgery at Apollo Health City, Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad. He completed his Post Graduation and Cardio-Thoracic Surgery studies from King George’s Medical College, Lucknow University. In his career of more than two decades, Dr. Dikshit has successfully completed 13208 Heart Surgeries with 99.1 percent success rate. He was facilitated by Medtronic Inc. USA for achieving 5000 Open Heart Surgeries in the year 2000 and by Apollo Hospitals Chairman Dr. Pratap C Reddy for performing 10000 Open Heart surgeries at Apollo Group.  He was appointed as a Consultant Cardio-Thoracic Surgeon at Apollo Hospital, Madras in December 1984. Here he worked in close association with Stalwarts like Dr. M.R. Girinath who was theSeniorr Consultant. Together with Dr. Girinath, he performed over 6000 Open Heart Operations between years 1984 – 1991, which was a record number of Open Heart Surgeries in any hospital of the country at that time. At Hyderabad Apollo Hospital Dr. Dikhsit has operated on 10300 patients for Cardio-Thoracic Surgeries, out of which 8588 patients underwent Open Heart Surgeries including 6299 patients Coronary Bypass Surgeries, 2289 patients for Valve Replacements and Congenital Cardiac Corrections, and Miscellaneous Cardiac Surgeries.
