Dr. Y Vijayachandra Reddy

Dr. Y Vijaya Chandra Reddy is a Senior Consultant & Interventional Cardiologist at Apollo Main Hospitals, Chennai, since March 2009. He completed MBBS from Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati in 1988, MD - General Medicine from Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education And Research, Chandigarh in 1991 and DM - Cardiology from Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow In 1994. Following the completion of his studies in India, Dr. Reddy underwent various fellowships abroad including FACC - Fellow of American College of Cardiology, FCSI - Fellow of Cardiological Society of India and British Commonwealth Scholar in Interventional Cardiology, University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, UK Prior to Apollo Main Hospitals, Dr. Reddy practiced at the Vijaya Heart Foundation, Vijaya Hospital, for 12 years. Dr. Reddy excelled in performing different interventional techniques on coronaries, peripheral arteries like carotid, subclavian, renal, iliac, femoral, infratibial, etc. His expertise lies in varieties of pacemaker implantations, CRTs, ICDs, paediatric interventions such as PDA coils, ASD device closure, PTMC and other valvuloplasties, and endovascular repairs. Dr. Reddy is also the pioneer of the rotatory method of “only anterior” puncture technique (modified Seldinger technique) for radial cannulation. He loves to share his deep knowledge in his field and is an avid speaker at seminars and conferences as well as academic programs and lectures. He has published and presented innumerable research papers and studies over the years.
