Gynecological cancer is the type of cancer that begins in a female’s reproductive system. The top gynecologists in India say that the most common types of gynecological cancer are ovarian cancer and cervical cancer. Apart from these, other types of gynecological cancers include vaginal, vulvar, and uterine cancer.
The ovaries are the part of the female reproductive system that produces egg (ova) and the hormones progesterone, estrogen and testosterone. The two ovaries are located on either side of the uterus. The type of cancer that starts in the ovaries is known as ovarian cancer. Ovarian cancer can start in any part of the ovary, which include the cells that become eggs ( germ cells), the cells that make up the substance of the ovaries (stromal cells) and the cells that make up the outer layer of the ovaries (epithelial cells).
The symptoms of ovarian cancer include :
If you experience these symptoms for more than 2 weeks, it is advised to seek medical consultation from a gynecologist.
Ovarian cancer is usually difficult to be detected when it is in the earlier stages and the patient may suffer very mild symptoms. The procedures used in order to test for ovarian cancer include pelvic exam, imaging test, blood tests and surgery. For a pelvic exam, the doctor generally uses gloved fingers in order to palpate your pelvic organs. The vagina, cervix and external genitalia are also visually examined. Imaging tests are conducted to get a clear idea of the shape, size and structure of the ovaries. Furthermore, usually a CA125 blood test is administered to aid in determining your overall health. If the doctor is not satisfied with the test reports, he might decide to go for a surgery in order to ascertain your condition.
Cervical cancer is the type of cancer that starts in cervix, the lowermost part of the uterus. It can initially affect the deeper tissues of cervix and can later metastasize to spread to other parts of the body, such as the liver, rectum, lungs and vagina. The majority of the cases of cervical cancer are caused by HPV (human papillomavirus), which can be prevented by vaccination. The various types of cervical cancer include squamous cell carcinoma, which forms in the lining of the cervix; adenocarcinoma, which forms in the cells that produce mucus and mixed carcinoma.
The symptoms of Cervical Cancer may go unnoticed until its spread far along the body. These symptoms include :
- Pelvic pain
- Uneasiness while peeing
- Kidney failure
- Loss of Appetite
- Weight loss and fatigue
In order to detect cervical cancer, the doctor may begin with administering either a Pap Test or HPV DNA test. For the Pap Test, some of the cells from the cervix are scraped and taken off as samples. In the laboratory, it is examined to detect any kind of abnormalities, such as cancerous growth.
For the latter, the cells are examined to trace any signs of HPV, which is most likely to cause cervical cancer.

Anita Sethi
Delhi
Anita Sethi is a resident of Delhi and is around 29 years old. After trying at least three times, she became able to meet the chance where she could conceive a baby. This was her last try otherwise she was going to seek IVF facilities for having a baby naturally. There was a time when she had to go through PCOS and its adverse symptoms. She gained huge weight, started sweating even in winters, and started having a foul smell all because of the unexplained weight gain. She worked harder to maintain her weight after her marriage and succeeded in conceiving a baby finally at the end of the year. But this pregnancy did come with all good chances. She doubted that there might be certain issues in her pregnancy.
How did Anita receive help?
Although everything seemed normal seeing physical growth, there was something different that doctors detected in an ultrasound.
During the third trimester of the pregnancy, the mother, Anita, got to know that her child was lying horizontally in the womb.
This is one of the incorrect positions of the baby called a transverse lie, which generally affects the type of delivery and the growth of the child.
It is one of the extremely rare conditions where the mother develops the chances of releasing/prolapsing (coming out of the womb) the umbilical cord.
This is what exactly happened with Anita. Before she could feel the labor, her child started knocking for the delivery during the 7th month and her umbilical cord came out of her womb as her water broke.
Anita, who already had her delivery booked with a Gynecologist in India through the medium of Credihealth, had to go through cesarean delivery and it took around two months to maintain the baby’s health in incubation in the hospital.
The baby was delivered prematurely but the most astonishing thing was that he was not affected by any kind of infections or other diseases which are rare in such cases. She feels thanks toward the Gynecologist in India and her practices that helped her to receive a healthy baby boy.
