Daksh Mehra
Delhi
Daksh Mehra is a 5 years old child studying in class 1. He often complains of getting sick while going to school. Even when he goes to school, he complains of having the same issue while studying. It was like a daily routine for her parents and teachers to tackle the naughtiness of the child. Once Daksh started murmuring things and tried to convince the teacher about some random story. When he started having convulsions or different body movements, his family was immediately informed.
How did Daksh receive help?
Daksh who was having convulsions at the time of being in school was admitted to the nearby hospital Fortis Vasant Kunj.
Seeing the age and the health of the child, the pediatrician was consulted immediately. The doctor asked for certain things regarding the child to which the parents answered well.
The child, who was going through low body weight and was 5 years old, received all major tests including a regular blood pressure routine, diabetes check, and even a CT scan.
Nothing showed the poor health of the child. However, things were visible while having a look at the health of the child. The child was underweight, and dull along with poor maintenance of physical health.
The pediatrician of Fortis Vasant Kunj admitted the child for two days and asked the parents to take complete care of Daksh.
Daksh, who received medications, was said to be in depression. But the doctors were not sure how to start the medications at such a young age. Therefore, the doctors informed the parents about the medical health of the child and gave them an ultimatum to either lose their child or help their child receive good health and manage good weight. Today, Daksh is 15 years old and receiving his education well. He has developed a sharp mind and is able to perform all mathematical and scientific questions. He is preparing himself for his future while taking regular tuition classes.
Jyoti Khurana
New Delhi
Being an experienced personality and having thorough knowledge often comes with age. But, there was something different that happened with Jyoti Khurana, who is around 38 years old. She is an English teacher and what she noticed was something horrible for any teacher to go through. She started forgetting the spellings and the matter of study which she was teaching for 10 years from the same books. One mistake made her question whether she should have continued with her profession or not. Jyoti started writing incorrect words on the blackboard, it was the time when she noticed that she was forgetting everything. But, the students were cooperative, they helped Jyoti to fight the confusion in her mind.
How did Jyoti receive help?
Forgetting things was not only the symptom that Jyoti had, instead she started developing headaches frequently. She started losing her attention and used to get confused with herself.
Other teachers started noticing her until one of her colleagues appeared to talk to her about the symptoms and suggested that she should see a doctor at Fortis Vasant Kunj.
Jyoti, who thought it to be natural, tried having a visit to the hospital and had a concern about the same with her doctor. The doctor for the first time thought it to be a symptom of depression because Jyoti was losing her attention and it was affecting her memory. Jyoti started receiving medicines for her depression and informed all the teachers about the same.
Thinking that she will be given help, she talked to her colleagues and discussed the things. On the other hand, her colleagues helped her by giving her extra study material and she was taken for a part-time role in the school instead of a regular role.
Two years passed and Jyoti was still fighting her memory loss. The problem arose when she started forgetting the address of her house and reached somewhere else.
After having a deep diagnosis and a few tests like CT scan, MRI, and positron emission tomography (PET) along with other blood tests, Jyoti was detected to have Alzheimer's disease, the kind of disease that causes the shrinking of the brain and affects the memory of the person. Jyoti discontinued her job after facing the incident and she started having a job at her family restaurant. On the other hand, she is still fighting her symptoms and taking medications with the help of Fortis Vasant Kunj and Credihealth.
