Lipectomy is performed to enhance the size of your buttocks using fat grafting or fat transfer or sometimes a combination of both.
This procedure of fat transfer is widely known as a “Brazilian butt lift”. However, the surgery is also used to remove the excess of thigh skin or sagging buttock that gets developed due to aging, gravity or weight loss.
The buttock lift surgery is usually undertaken when you want to –
Better the balance of your figure
Enhance the roundness, fullness and projection of your buttock
Improve your confidence and of course, the self-image
Get a blood test done
Deter from taking aspirin and anti-inflammatory medicines to reduce the risk of bleeding
You may have to stop taking certain medicines or start taking some on your surgeon’s recommendation
Your doctor may evaluate your pre-existing health conditions and overall health
Generally in the surgery, your surgeon will put an incision slightly down your waist or at the waist.
After putting incisions, the excess of fat or skin is removed from the soft tissues and the skin is then lifted and closed in layers with a surgical tape, skin adhesive or sutures.
Once the surgery is performed, your surgeon will apply a sterile dressing and you will be asked to put on an elastic girdle or compression garment that can firmly hold the skin, reduce swelling and help in the natural skin tightening.
When the after-surgical swelling will reduce and mark of incisions will diminish, you will realize the attainment of a fuller buttock.
Complete recovery from the surgery may take from four to six months and you may experience some mild/moderate pain or discomfort which can be alleviated using certain medications that your surgeon will provide you.
On the other hand, the bruising or swelling gets subsided under 2-3 weeks.
Besides, avoid any difficult activity or exercise for a couple of months.
