Edema is a swelling from fluid accumulation in body tissues. When parts of the body are affected with edemait is called edematous. Edema commonly affects the feet, ankles, legs, and hands which is peripheral edema. The swelling is the cause of the accumulation of excess fluid beneath the skin within the tissues. The edema that occur liver is mainly caused by salt retention, which results in gathering excess fluid in the body. This salt retention in the liver causes forming of fluid which results in edema.
