Let’s admit it, a majority of us religiously follow our favourite celebs. We like to keep a tab on what they wear, who they date, their favourite restaurant, and so on. So, when our favourite celeb turns mom, why stop there? Here are a few celebs and their parenting styles.
Bollywood sweetheart, you can love, hate her, but you can’t ignore Kajol. Daughter of a Bollywood legend, Kajol has a unique style of acting – often quite natural – it’s hard not to be her fan! At the peak of her career Kajol got married with Bollywood self made man, Ajay Devgn. So, what does Kajol say about her parenting style?
“The one golden rule that I have in my house is – As Momma Says. What I say is written in stone and there are no explanations thereafter.”
2. Sussanne Roshan
Popularly known as one of Bollywood’s most down-to-Earth celeb, Sussanne Roshan and Hrithik Roshan have a similar parenting style – taking their kids more as friends. Sussanne’s been quoted saying
“Your child is absorbing what is around him so we take care of what we say in front of the children since before we know it, they are repeating random words back to me! You do not have to be rigid to your child, let him follow his own path – whether it is what career he wants to take up or what religion he wants to practise. Not only will this give him happiness, it will also make him a better human being.”
3. Madhuri Dixit Nene
There’s not a single person in India who doesn’t adore Madhuri Dixit Nene. At the peak of her career, this Bollywood celeb got hitched to a Doctor based in America. Naturally, Madhuri’s acting style is a bit more health conscious.
“There is one thing that I am really strict about and that is (making sure that they are) brushing teeth twice a day. No matter how tired they are or how late they arrive after attending birthday parties, I make sure that they brush their teeth.”
4. Kim Kardashian
The most googled personality in the world & the most photographed woman in the world. That’s quite an introduction, even for a celeb. Who doesn’t know Kim & Kanye West’s crazy journey to parenthood. Congratulations to the Wests, they recently added a baby boy to their family. Kim to C magazine:
“[Motherhood] has taught me how to prioritise. And I was forced to take a break for awhile. I never liked downtime, but I decided I enjoy it — that’s when the fun ideas come about.”
My personal favourite, Sridevi is one mommy who does not get old. Despite a tough childhood herself, Sridevi makes sure her daughter’s childhood is as smooth as possible.
“I have taught them to always be welcoming and polite. She continues, “They (her children) are very down to earth; not spoilt at all! As for parenting decisions, it’s a joint effort.”
