Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) makes it harder to track your ovulation/fertile window due to irregular cycles. Women who suffer from this condition find it hard to conceive and there are very few reliable fertility tracking devices that give accurate results with PCOS. After undertaking meticulous research on the internet and checking hundreds of verified reviews, we decided to test out a few fertility devices to check which one manages to give reliable results for women with PCOS.

In terms of ratings, reviews, features, and ease of use, the Inito Fertility Monitor stood out for us. While this app has not received many reviews on e-commerce sites like Amazon, we came across a lot of reliable reviews on Reddit and Facebook where users shared how they conceived successfully with PCOS. We also managed to join Inito's Facebook group where we came across lots of users with conditions like PCOS, thyroid disorders, and anovulation.

While comparing Inito with other fertility tracker monitors in a similar category, users complained of issues like it was cumbersome to use monitors with multiple strips, some of them took too long to show results and almost all of them were overpriced and not worth the hype. As per users, none of them seemed to work with irregular cycles/PCOS as the monitors, like OPKs, follow a very limited range of hormone threshold and was unable to read unique hormone trends like multiple LH surges or small rise in LH and progesterone (PdG).

On the other hand, women who have been using Inito for a few cycles shared how testing with Inito helped them put a pin on the problem and get it diagnosed. The app makes it easy to share hormone level readings from the fertility tracker monitor with health practitioners and nutritionists, making it easier to work out treatment plans at an early stage.

The other thing about Inito that stood out was how it was easy to use and showed results much faster than other monitors. As per most users, the app manages to show hormone levels in 5-6 minutes and works with one strip which you need to use with your first-morning urine, once a day. A member of our team who was diagnosed with PCOS tried out the Inito Starter Kit for a month and shared her thoughts on the fertility monitor.

What is Inito?

Inito is a fertility monitor that measures all four fertility hormones - follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), estrogen, luteinizing hormone (LH), and progesterone (PdG). And the best part is that all four hormones are measured on a single test strip.

How does Inito work?

You need to pee in a cup and then insert the test strip in the cup for 15 seconds. Once out, you insert the test strip into the monitor attached to your phone.  Wait for about 5 minutes and voila, your results are ready. Inito shows daily hormone levels with detailed charts on the app. You can check the graph every day to track your hormone trends.  Inito gives you three different results based on the phase of your cycle.

  • High Fertility 🟢 - When estrogen starts rising 3-4 days before ovulation.
  • Peak Fertility 🔵 - When LH starts rising 24-36 hours before ovulation.
  • Ovulation Confirmed 🟣 - When Progesterone (PdG) starts rising consistently a few days after ovulation.

Your fertile window is marked by the days of high fertility and peak fertility. You can try to conceive during this time.

How is Inito any different from other OPKs?

  • Confirms ovulation

Ovulation tracker device - Most OPKs measure your LH levels which can only help predict ovulation. If you wish to confirm your ovulation, progesterone is your BFF. Progesterone rises after the egg is released, indicating that you have ovulated.   Inito gives you your fertile window by measuring FSH, estrogen, and LH. It confirms ovulation by measuring the rise in your progesterone (PdG) levels.

  • Gives actual values 🔢

OPKs are set to give you a result based on an average threshold marked on their test strips. Only if you fall in that threshold, will you get a positive result. Inito removes the guesswork from your hormone levels and gives you accurate results. You don't have to worry about falling within any 'set threshold'. They can do their own thing and all you need to do is test daily.

PCOS & Ovulation  PCOS is a condition of hormonal imbalance that tends to affect your ovulation. The problem with PCOS is that ovaries form multiple follicles that turn into cysts due to high LH levels and this means that the entire process of ovulation goes off-key.

Since OPKs measured only LH levels, testing with PCOS yielded false results as due to PCOS, LH levels remain high *constantly* and give false results on OPKs time and again. With Inito, we could track the actual values of hormones daily and get a full picture of a menstrual cycle. Access to hormone charts and real values makes it far easier to conceive as compared to other fertility devices.

Final Verdict: Is the Inito Fertility Monitor Right for You?

Verdict, inito fertility monitor review

The Inito Fertility Monitor is a powerful tool for tracking fertility, but its suitability depends on your unique needs and circumstances. Throughout the entire cycle, we didn't face any hiccups with the testing process and the app shared reliable results which we cross-checked with our in-house doctor. She found the hormone charts quite useful and confirmed signs of PCOS like high LH levels and delayed ovulation which other fertility monitors failed to show or showed discrepancies in results.

Priced at $149, we would definitely recommend the Inito fertility monitor as a reliable alternative to ovulation kit or over priced fertility monitors. You can use this to track lifestyle changes and how/if the medicines that you are taking are helping. Inito also uses specific PCOS-friendly criteria to confirm ovulation so you can track your levels of LH and progesterone if you are trying to conceive.

Of course, it's important to keep in mind that individual results may vary and it's always a good idea to consult with a healthcare provider before starting any new fertility treatment. But, based on our overall experience of researching user reviews and using the device, we definitely agree that Inito is perfect for use with PCOS.
