Dr. Thomas J Kishen

Dr. Thomas J. Kishen is a dynamic and skilled Spine Surgeon at Manipal Hospital, Malleshwaram and Manipal Hospital HAL Airport Road. He has more than 17 years of experience in the field of Spine Surgery. His area of expertise lies in the Surgical and Non-Surgical treatment of spinal disorders including disc surgery and spinal fusions at all levels of the spine from the neck to the lower back. He specializes in treating Spinal injections, Spinal Tumor Surgery and Scoliosis and kyphosis surgery. He is also associated with Manipal Hospital HAL Airport Road and Manipal Northside Hospital Malleshwaram. Dr. Thomas J. Kishen has studied MBBS from Mangalore University in 1996 followed by Diploma in Orthopedics from Kasturba Medical College in 1999. Further, he has completed DNB in Orthopedics from National Board of Examinations New Delhi in 2001. He has also undertaken a fellowship program in Spine Surgery from Ganga Hospital & Research Centre Coimbatore in 2005. Afterwards, he joined an advanced training program in Spine Surgery from St George Hospital, University of New South Wale. Dr. Thomas J. Kishen was awarded Dr. Premananda Nayak Award for the `Best Outgoing D`Ortho Student` from MAHE University, Manipal in 1998. He has won ‘Professor M.V. Daniel Gold Medal’ for `Exemplary Commitment to Patient Care` for the year 2000 from PSG Institute of Medical Sciences, Coimbatore. He was also honored with ASSI-Depuy Best Spine Research Award at the ASSI conference at Bangalore in January 2005 for the paper titled ‘Is single stage posterior column shortening a safe and reliable procedure in active spinal tuberculosis’.
