Exercise and Nutrition: The Best Approach Towards A Healthy Lifestyle

Exercise and Nutrition go hand in hand when it comes to maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Both are essential to take care of the body and comes with their benefits. While exercise is vital to keep the body in shape, a healthy diet serves the body with essential nutrients to maintain the same. Both exercise and nutrition help with multiple things, including mental and physical growth and strength. These enable the body to function in the best way possible.

I have seen people hitting the gym every day but still complaining that they are not able to lose weight or achieve their body goal. Or, many follow a proper diet regime and always find it challenging to stay healthy. Well, if you belong to any of these two categories, then you do not have to worry anymore.

In this article, I will take you on the run down to how exercise and nutrition affect your overall health and the ways to achieve your fitness goals by maintaining a balance between both of them.

So, let’s scroll down.

#1. Losing Weight and Maintaining the Same

When it comes to weight loss, most people find it a more difficult task than it sounds. They hit the gym daily but cannot see that extra fat shredding. Now, what could be the possible reason behind the same? The answer is Nutrition. Yes!! You read it right.

Some people believe that they will be able to lose those extra kilos by just going to the gym every day. Well, this is not true. If facts about losing weight are to be believed, then exercise plays only a 20 percent role and the rest 80 percent depends on nutrition.

Is it hard to believe? Well, it is the truth.

So, if you wish to get rid of those extra inches and fat, then you have to maintain a balance between both.

Things to do:

  • Keep track of how much calories you lose while working out and how many calories you consume in a day.
  • Always remember that even after you lose weight, it is crucial to maintain the same by taking a proper nutritional diet and doing regular exercise.

#2. Right Proportion of the Meal

Once you start working out, followed by a healthy diet plan, the right next thing to do is strike a balance in your diet.

Now, how can you maintain a balance in your diet? Or, what is the right diet regime to follow?

Do not worry!! I have got your back.

About striking a balance in your diet, all you need to know is the right proportion of fats, carbs, protein, fiber, and all other essential nutrients. Also, besides striking a balance in your diet and understanding the right portion of all essential nutrients, it is crucial to divide your diet into small meals (6 to 8 times) throughout the day (with a gap of at least 2.5 hours).

Doing this, you will be able to suppress your appetite with increased metabolism, which will eventually help you in losing weight fast.

Foods to eat:

  • Green leafy vegetables, fruits, salads, nuts, green tea, lemon water, and soya.
  • If you are a non-vegetarian, then consuming chicken breast can be a good source of protein.

Foods to avoid:

  • Pizza, burger, and all kinds of Junk
  • Oily and stale food, artificial sugar, candies, soda, sweet beverages, etc.

#3. Change your Diet and Workout Schedule

No!! I do not intend to say that you have to change your diet and workout schedule every week or frequently. But, you should not follow the same regime for more than 45 days. The reason behind this is that your body gets used to the workout you perform and the diet you take. So, to make the entire process of losing weight and keeping a healthy lifestyle, you have to make your workout and diet style diverse and exciting for your body.

For instance, if you do not like going to the gym and usually go for a walk or a run in the nearby public park, then you may switch it by getting a treadmill on rent and doing cardio at your home.

This will not only help you in achieving your fitness goal, but your body will feel good with the new diet being fed into it.

Things to consider:

  • Change your workouts and try creative exercises, including calisthenics, Tabata, and CrossFit.
  • Alter your diet according to your workout.

#4. Get Proper Sleep

Losing weight, consuming the right food, and making the required changes in the regime is not all that will help you with achieving your fitness goals.

It does not matter how much you work out or what food you eat unless you take your sleep for granted. Yes!! With everything else, sleep plays a significant role when it comes to living a healthy life. The reason behind this is that your body is not a machine, and it needs its own time to recover from the muscle breakdown due to the intensive workout done by you. So, make sure you give your body the much-needed rest.

Must to do:

Drink a glass of warm gold milk at least half an hour before going to bed and take a minimum of 7-hour sleep
